Default Identification of a wire

It's inside the front bumper (XJ40 91), goes across the middle, with large yellow connectors clipped on right and left side of the bumper. I can't figure out what the wire is for..
I'm repairing the electrical system, and apparently the wire was cut before, I believe by bumping into something. Since not every electrical system is functioning, it's hard to diagnose what it's for.

Any help would be appreciated!

Default Fogs

Sounds like you have found the electrical feed for the fog lights that are installed on the Van Den Plas versions of these cars.

It helps to let us know what car you have,by putting the info in your signature, maybe even a pic or two...

Check out the XJ40 book in the sticky's,I think there is a little info on different ways to use those wires.

Cheers,Jim

Thank you! You have a very similar Jag '91, do you know where I could get front turn signal lenses? Or are there any alternative replacements?

p.s. Took me a while to figure out how to change the signature. The links are all over the place. Pic coming soon too.

Hi danpop,

If Jim doesn't have the turn signal lenses you need from Redd, eBay is the next best source for salvaged lenses, and if Jaguar still has any available new, look up the part numbers at jaguarclassicparts.com, then check availability and pricing at jaguarmerriamparts.com or gaudinjaguarparts.com (assuming the shoreline you live on is part of the U.S.).

Cheers,

Don

And while we're on the question of "what wire is this", what wire is this?

Larry,

Our '93 has the same wire. I think I once looked it up in the schematics and it had something to do with transporting the car from the factory to dealer, but on your car, maybe it's the ground wire for the flux capacitor???

Cheers,

Don
