Default Oil Leak, Burning Oil, Embarrassing Smoke

Ok over a month ago I had an oil leak from my engine. It would pool up in the top of the cam cover and began running down the side then to the bottom of the engine. Once the engine warmed it would start burning said oil causing smoke, quite embarrassing.

After replacing all of the cam cover gasket I still had the oil leak. (Still ok because gaskets needed replacement greatly).
Was then told by mechanic that it was the oil cap. Ordered brand new cap from Jagbits and replaced upon arrival, yet leak persisted.

Finally after replacing cam cover bolts (making sure to follow cam cover bolt tightening sequence), so far the leak has stopped. This situation may already be posted by someone else, but I figured post mine also in hopes of increasing the chances of someone else having the same issue finding the solution. Thank you.

I just changed that gasket set myself on my red one. I had the oil on top of the cover and when I removed the cover each spark plug hole was filled with oil. Got the leaks fixed, unfortunately I don't seem to have cured the smoking condition. However, I choose to find it amusing in a Blues Brothers sort of way. The little puffs of smoke pointing out how tired the vehicle thinks it is. "We've thrown a rod!" "Is that bad?"

I used a few rolled up shop rags to get most of the oil out of my spark plug holes. Do you have oil still on the lower part of the engine? I had to wait for all of mine to burn off for the smoking to stop. The smoking is coming from the engine correct?

I replaced the washers on our cam cover screws with neoprene and stainless steel bonded sealing washers from McMaster-Carr, and we've had no more leaks:

I used several rolled up rags, a small screwdriver and a fair amount of brake clean. I had a new gasket and plug hole seals on hand and also went to the hardware store and got a new set of nylon washers for the cover screws. seems good So Far. Yes my remaining smoke is either still just burning off, or (gasp) somewhere down the back- like the rear main seal. Not looking forward to that, but such it is. The car is lucky to not have been parted out and/or crushed already (by previous owners).

My 94 had been sitting for a few days as I needs to use my truck to move stuff. And my wife and I decided to take it to the grocery store.

I fired it up and was greeted with a mixed big cloud of blue smoke. On putting it into gear and backing up the road to the corner there was a very James Bondish cloud again. My wife asked what's wrong and I just opened the console and hit the alarm switch and told her I forgot to turn off the smoke screen. We're good.
