Hah, good chase scene. My XJ 12 won't induce wheelspin like that, they must have lumped it with an LS engine

Being Seattle, I wonder if they trashed a Rust Bucket.

LnrB:

Do I suspect a trashily done lump rust bucket?

Sure hope it wasn't a decent car, however powered!!!

Or, special effects at work and the crash is much less than it appears to be....

did you guys catch the movie add, Italian connection,, it was back in early 70s(i think), the opener scene, they take a real Lambgihni Muria, crash it then push it (close up)with a bulldozer over a 1000ft cliff, showing it being torn to shreds tumbling down the cliff!

one sold around month ago for $4,000,000. million at auction.

go figure that!!!!

It was the "Italian Job" with Michael Caine. Big budget movie?!

The Italian Job from '69 is my favourite of all Michael Caine's movies. Loved the Coopers, at least they endured the whole movie!

As with many remakes though, the 2003 effort never measured up (IMHO)....

Elinor, I'm quite envious that you will be watching it for the first time! It's shown on TV from time to time and I have it permanently recorded. Right up there with Bullitt from the same era, but very English, including the humour.

Husband subscribed to Netflix some time ago because satellite was just entirely too expensive for what we watched, and what we can get off air is, um, not worth the electricity to keep the set warm. We look at our local weather and that's about it.

We've noticed that our favorites are almost completely British productions. We also like the older films better than newer ones. So this ticks 2 boxes right off! Having the DVD is merely a bonus!

I'll have to look into Bullitt too as you recommend it so highly.

Bullitt - 1968, (U.S.) Steve McQueen. Famous for Mustang GT coupe car chase through SF

The Italian Job - 1969, (British), Michael Caine. Famous for...well, you'll see.
