Default Rear radius arms--quick favor

I have the rear cage out for a diff replacement and usual other repairs. I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to install a rear anti-roll bar. I'm in the mock-up stage at the moment.

I hoping someone can take a quick peek at their rear radius arms for me.

With the car unloaded and at rest on a level floor, are the radius arms parallel to the floor? Or do the slant downwards a bit towards the rear? If they slant downward, How much? 1 inch, 2 inches, 3 inches? An eyeball guess is OK here.

I recall a downward slant but can't remember for sure.

Mine is a Series III but I think a Series I or II would be the same. The basic suspension layout is the same.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Cheers

you welcome. I forgot to say that my tires are 235/60/15, so the measured distance to the floor may be lower given that those tires lowered the car.

did you ever figure out the trunk lock/unlock business?

Doug, just to make trouble: mine ('87) are 7" at the front, down to 6" at the rear. Running standard 215/70-15's. For what it's worth.

On the back burner for now for now. Have a few bigger more important aspects to tackle; will come back 'round to the fun stuff later

Ok, thanks.

Tire height height, spring sag, etc can play into this.

Mine are 18-1/2" at the front and 14" at the back.

Being on jack stands might have something to do with it.

Yeah I know, but I couldn't help myself.

Chuckle!!!

1. I ain't going out to my cold garage and get under with a ruler. Sorry!

2. Elinor, how tall are the jack stands? so Doug can do the math!

3. Does it really matter?

Have not been driving the Jaguar regularly. Rain storms and messy streets. Odd, yeah, in view of it's English heritage, it should be right at home. Uh, uh, the wipers on my Jeep are far bigger and wipe so much faster. Not to mention that the Jeep's washer works and the Jag's does not???

So, I tried to crank up the Jaguar. Nope, clickety, clicks only. Put on the charger. Fired after a six hour injection of volts. Yesterday, fired again. Today, ???

I get this feeling, I'm about to go battery shopping.

The two cycle Weed Whacker refused to fire yesterday. So, got out the weaker electric one. Good enough. A fair session. Lots more to go before I try to fire up the
mower. It is always fussy about the first start for the season...

DD,
Picked my floor mounting position with the hooks in place for midladen. Compared it to on floor weight of car. Near same. Bar works fine.

I did a AADCO rear sway bar in my 84 Series 3. Need Photo's, Have questions? I found it made somewhat of a handling difference but the big help was the one inch bar in the front. Larry Louton
