Last one. I'm sure it will just turn it whichever way it wants to.

Maybe the pictures turn upside down because it wants to be sold to someone in Australia? :-D

That is a really beautiful car - love it. It is something special with the low miles and great condition. I'll add my vote for upper teens... maybe eBay it with a buy it now at $20k and a reserve price of $15k? Or take the suggestion of listing at $20k and being willing to negotiate a bit. It's worth it to the right person.

Looks like you have a very nice low mileage example. Not sure who Vee is referring too when he made the comment that from a previous post someone on here is convinced your car is worth in the mid 20's. If He was referring to any comments I have made in the past I will say a few things about value here.

I have two 1995's so I am very familiar with this car and what I have stated is that the value on these cars are all over the map. About the time you think you have seen it all on pricing one either sells for much less then what you think or for much more. For example this last year I have seen a 1995 with around 15K miles sell for $11,000.00( sold in a few hours ) and then we have seen the white one sell at auction for $22,000.00 with 84K miles. What I have seen this last year is an over all trend up in value with very clean low mileage examples. You will always have exceptions but this is what I am seeing overall.

I would agree with many prior assessments given already on your cars value. I would expect the value to be in the $15,000 to $20,000 range with a quick sale possible at the $13,000 to $14,500 range if the car shows out as represented. I would think as others have stated already to expect to get around $17,500.00 if you can wait for the right person. I would list on JCNA classifieds along with Hemmings and Ebay with a minimum of whatever you are willing to let it go for. I think the key is very good detailed photos with time taken to state history and overall condition of car. I think your color combination will be a very desire able combination to many.

The reason I have always felt these cars are a great value is primarily for the following reasons:

A) The AJ16 4.0L was only available for the 1995 and 1996 models. The word is getting out what a great reliable engine this is and will continue to grow in desirability.

B) Compare a 1995 XJS like yours with 24K miles against many other British convertibles like a TR6 or MG in the $15,000 to $20,000 range and you will see very quickly how much car you are getting for the money.

C) Based on the cost to restore cars in general and the XJS in particular, your 1995 in the price range of say $17,500.00 is a heck of a bargain. Keep in mind that out of the 5800 or so overall 1995 XJS' produced around 4500 were sold in the USA so we here in North America have had the biggest pool to choose from but very nice low mileage examples will start to be harder to find as time goes on.

D) If you want to get into the "classic" Jaguar club the XJS gives many the best bang for buck access. Since they made the XJS for 21 model years you can drive a very nice late model convertible or coupe with all the refinements including air bags for much much less the a comparable E-type or XK. Now I know the XJS is not a E but there are not that many XJS running around in most areas and so the XJS is starting to get attention not just when being driven but at Jaguar shows etc.

I did make the prediction that in the future we will see late model XJS convertibles selling for a series 3 E-type coupe money. I understand that we are not there yet and the XJS has ground to make up to do this, but I stand by my prediction. I do not know if I will live long enough to see this happen but I still think it is possible based on the fact that the series 3 E-type coupe is the least desirable E-type and that XJS' got more desirable at the end of the run. If you consider how few 6.0L convertibles were built then I might just see this prediction within my lifetime come true. Seeing a 1995 4.0L with 84K sell at auction for $22,000.00 does prove if enough good alcohol is involved anything is possible -LOL!!!!!!

Default Do you still have the car?

I live in Dallas and am looking for a 95-96 XJS Convertible. Have you sold the car? Also, who does your service? I'd like to find a good mechanic in DFW. Thx.

Nice-looking car!

Just to let you know the upholstery is Cream, rather than Tan.

Good luck with the sale.
