1995 XJS Convertible - Rear Seat Removal

As far as I recall from my '94, it's not fastened on by anything. There are a couple of tabs that fit into some slots. It just takes a firm push or pull upwards and it should slide right out.
Bill
P.S. When I was looking at my rear window motor, I didn't need to remove the seat cushions. The side panel can be moved with the seats in place....on a '94 at least.

1990 XJ-S convertible.
Hello All,
I'm having trouble getting the rear seats out of my XJ-S Convertible.
Have found two bolts under seats and removed the nut. I assume next that I must remove back rest to get seat out....question is How?
I have peeled back some carpet behind seat and found a hefty bracket with large slotted screws into plywood of Back rest. Do I undue these and lift back rest up and out or am I totally Wrong!!
Hope someone can give this muppet a sequence from start to finish.
Thanks
Kevin

Hello Allan,
Aftermarket or factory I'm not sure. I do know that I don't want to damage the seats and there has to be an easy way to get them out!!
I was thinking perhaps side panels which house speaker/seat belt first and then things might be obvious from then on!! But if someone can help that would be great.

Kevin,
Thanks for posting the picture. They are aftermarket by the looks of it and so we probably don't know the correct procedure for removal. (which is why I mentioned that originally)
On the 90 coupe, I believe you would undo the bolts under the seat cushion and remove the seat. Then remove the two bolts at the bottom of the squab that are revealed when you remove the cushion. Then you simply pull it up. On later cars you can just pull up on the squab as it is located by tabs.
