Default BOOO to JDHT, a big BOOOOOOO! JDHT Manuals:(

Okay, so I needed the manuals for my jag and went to the source. First of all they changed the way to get them. The links floating around here are old. You just get them from their website now. No need to email or fax your credit card number. You can use your Paypal account if you want.

To their credit, i ordered $130 worth of DVD's on Monday and they arrived today. That's quick considering they came from England!

Here's the problem... they don't install correctly. The only computer in my house I was able to get them to install on correctly is a Mac, which is what we have everywhere... except in the garage. The problem with the Mac is that you can't do anything except view the page. No printing, no forwarding... etc. totally locked out.

So, the only way i can really use them is to move the Mac into the garage which only bothers my teenage girls

These guys have taken some serious strides in order to prevent me from sharing my $130 worth of technical information with all of you that I'm actually locked out myself... the dude that spent the buck 30.

Another positive which does me no good is that i now have all the manuals and technical documentation for every one of your XJS' from the beginning to the end, every motor and every variant... parts, dealer documentation, service manuals, wiring... everything.

I'm committed to figure this out and blow it up so stay tuned

It's called "Intellectual Property" and very valuable to companies. I've recently retired as a contract manager responsible for "IP" and you just don't know what I had to to go through in order to obtain "IP" on behalf of the USG! "Oh...you guys need that; How much $$ you got?" It was a burn out job and I finally threw in the towel. That's what we're faced with re the service DVDs. We either pay up or develop our own technical data and solutions. The biggest problems I foresee in future ownership of our beloved Jaguars is dealing with the various computers in our cars as they crap out.
We're going to have to develop alternatives or park our cars. I won't touch a post '96 edition of any make for any reason because of the technology involved.

It says when you buy them that you can't print them on a mac. So you sort of agreed to that. What type of file are you trying to open on the pc and what program are you opening it with? PDC is a secured pdf format that you may need to download a viewer to see.

Indeed it did say that but check this out. I'm running Parallels and Windows XP on the virtual machine on all of my Macs. What I didn't mention is that it doesn't install on the windows side. I'm sure I can get some technical support if I want to do an overseas call for hours.

Also, they only let you activate it on one machine.

For just a few pages you can do a screen capture (Command, Shift, 4) and print that.
Doesn't help with the main problem but it will allow you to take a few pages with you the the garage.

The haves and the have nots became households who do and do not have an IT person
in residence.

what do you mean it doesn't install. What happens, what sort of error do you receive?
