idler pulley bearing replacement

idler pulley bearing replacement
we are quite lucky with our V12 XJS's , honest.......
as all the belts are separate for each device , and no ' serpentine belt ' there arnt any idle pullies to go bad , apart from one, this is the adjustment for the aircon pump , and in overseas markets has the air injection pump in its place

this bearing has become noisy due to the forces put on it over 26 years and 100k miles,
some people modify a V12 water pump bearing to fit, as its a similar size, bt not a lot of people know that the bearing is available new from Jaguar, but at the cost of £90 all in :?
here it is below next to my existing bearing holder

first you have to slacken off the belt adjustment to allow the arm to pivot, remove the belt, and then you need to remove the three bolts holding on the pulley to the armature , undo the top and bottom bolts and remove from the car
you then need to remove the retaining grub screw and nut from the side of the arm
and drive out the old bearing with the collet still on using a puller/pusher
below is a spare unit I pulled apart next to the one I want to refurbish

next is to take apart the one I want to refurbish , and clean it up , then drive in the new bearing as below using a suitably sized socket

until it looked like this

to be honest it went in a little to far , so I flipped it over and sent it back 2mm
then I had to push on the pulley collet ,

and then threw it all back into the car

one less noise to worry about

Does anyone know or is able to find part numbers for these these bits and pieces? Specifically the arm itself. I need to get my hands on one... I have an air pump (thanks to a member) but it's huge and... Gutting it doesn't look as straight forward as I thought and I'll still be left with a huge housing. Any advise and direction will be greatly appreciated.
Anyone living in Europe or other areas of the great wide world have a source, possibility?

Way back when I ditched the Air Pumps on all mine, those brackets were a dime a dozen, NOT now sadly.
The bearings I used were a common Water Pump Bearing, as mentioned, AKA 5/8" Water Pump Bearing @ about $25 I think?
The fan hubs were all long gone on the same cars, and Efans installed.
I had a lathe and all sorts back in those days, so slicing that shaft was simple, and the Dremel sorted that "flat" in seconds.
I also Loctited that hub when refitting to the new bearing, maybe not needed, but what the heck.
