Default Interior Trim Reference SDG 96 XJS 2+2 convertible

Does anyone know what SDG designates for interior trim?

I have tried to track down on some of the reference materials that are available but still can't figure out.

Some of the reference materials refers to the various options/colors that are available for the model year but do not specifically call out the codes.

If they do I apologize for missing it!!

Thanks

Paul,

Are you sure it's not SDC? SDC is Coffee.

The trim code is on a label above LH headlight, visible when bonnet is open.

Hope that helps.

Paul & Sidescrollin,

My trim code was located on the drivers side door post. It also gives the color of paint, etc.

As for the information I was referencing, here is what I did.

1. Click on Sticky "How to quick Links"
2. Scroll down to your particular vehicle, mine is a 96
3. The article comes up as Parts Catalog and refers to Vin #'s for information.

There you go.

Thanks

Paul

It could be SDC. Is Coffee dark or light in color

Paul,

SDG isn't a Jaguar trim code. As mentioned, SDC is coffee and was one of the XJS trim colours for 96. It's a mid-brown, darker than the creams and lighter than sorrel.

Did your original question mean what is the colour for SDC or did you mean, which parts of the trim are SDC?

Thanks for the response.

My question was regarding color. The only worn thing on the entire vehicle is the drivers seat....Just the part you sit on..... everything else is perfect!!

Trying to figure out an inexpensive way to fix this one issue.

Paul,

If it's not actually ripped, you can get fantastic results using a kit from Furniture Clinic - Leather Care Cleaner, Furniture Repair & Restoration

They supply good value kits containing all the materials you need to refurbish your seat and there are some good videos from them via Youtube. They undertake seminars for the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club here in the UK.

Have a look at their site or give them a call. You might be pleasantly surprised at what you can do very cheaply.

I'd give leatherique a call, their products as bada$$, they are in the US so they would be a better option than furniture clinic

I probably should have been more specific. The drivers seat has some seperation in the bottom cushion. Although not terribly bad it will need to be repaired or replaced.

Thanks

See if you can find a local upholstery place to look at it and give you a quote as far as sewing it back up. If any of the dye/paint has been damaged you can fix it with leatheriques stuff

I did that already. The fool wanted to charge me over $1,000. He claims it was over $500 for just the seat bottom. The rest was labor.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I'm pushing 70 yrs old and have upholstered a few vehicles in my time but because you come driving in a jag they think you don't care how much it costs.

I will do it myself. The leather interior is $700 for both seats complete.

The shame of it is that other than the drivers seat the balance of the upholstery looks like it just came out of the show room.

Oh Well....The funny thing is the cost for the covers is identical to what I paid to do my Merc 560SL.

Thanks

yeah, unfortunately this skill isn't seen very much anymore, so it demands a bit of a price. if you found covers for $700 then good on you, keep it looking new.

Paul,

Seat covers are often cheaper to replace than repair these days. Mind you, $700 for a pair of proper Celebration seat covers sounds very cheap! Have they got the proper embossed headrests etc? Could you post a link to the company who is selling at this price? I'm interested eve from the UK in this price!

Tks

I was off a bit. $840 for leather seat covers w/center console cover. Company is Autoberry in USA.

Another is on Ebay Diamond Mall $745 leather no center cover.

The portions of the seats that are not exposed are not leather.

I installed some in my Merc 560SL Looked great!! Car was purchased by a guy in Germany and shipped overseas.

Where is Kent, England? I spent a year in Dundee, Scotland

Shouldn't you be in bed by now!!
