Oh, well, in that case.......
Actually, my list is fairly small. I always thought my XJS was really great all along. In addition to climate control as already mentioned....
1) Manual transmission option with V12 and/or an automatic more suitable than the old TH400
2) Rear anti-roll bar on all models. Jaguar added/deleted the rear bar from the spec sheet so many times it's just silly. All the cars should've had the rear bar, period. IMHO of course
3) The inboard rear brake set up should've been dumped much sooner. Personally I think it's a fascinating set-up but, truth is, in real world terms it's more of an engineering novelty than anything else. When Jaguar finally did go to conventional outboard brakes very little, if anything, was lost in terms of driving qualities.
That's all I can think of at the moment without getting into a long list of petty issues and Jaguar foibles
Cheers

I'm simply Amazed how many people have become so dependent on that Crutch that they can no longer use Mirrors!
They make good drivers lazy and poor drivers worse.

What is 'Cadence Braking'?
As for ABS, well, I think a good ABS system is a *tremendous* benefit. (This is usually where everyone starts chiming in that their driving/reaction skills are SO superior that, in a panic situation, they can modulate the brakes better and faster than the ABS computer )
Problem is, for too many years Jaguar used a not-so-good ABS system. I'd much rather go without ABS than suffer with a poor ABS.
Cheers

In at least some cases it might be that the the design of the car virtually mandates the cameras. Have you noticed that, nowadays, so many cars a built with very high beltlines and slit-like windows? The visibilty is horrible !

As for fitting Louvres that sounds interesting!
Have you done that yet Gre
Has anyone fitted Louvres?
I think that would really up the Anti in the Looks department, which doesn't need too much help from what I can see.
As the XJS is one of those Cars, that to put it mildly, is already very easy on the Eye![/QUOTE]
Hi folks
Yes I put louvers on my XJS and they absolutely work. I was hesitant about making that first cut in the hood, but once I got started, it went pretty smooth. Use an Air Riveter instead of the manual one. The heat that comes through is amazing, especially if you have to go into the city. It also allows heat to escape when turned off. They look good and have not deterred from its lines. They come in several sizes and I got the larger ones from Run Cool Lovers online.

I know loads of people who regard the XJS as being a bit of a basket case and a total disappointment as being a replacement for the 'e' type which the 'Cognoscenti' know, it was never supposed to be.
As this is a Car that stands there in its own right, the only problem being that most people who rubbish this Car, have never owned or driven one in their lives!
Whenever I've taken a doubter out, for a little trip down the road they soon change their minds.
But I don't care what people think, to me it is quite simply as Epic as it can get on four wheels.

I'm hoping that the other Paul PJTS will come in on this one, as no doubt he will know the very place where you can get some new ones.
Me thinks you were driving her a little bit too fast and burnt them off the moment that you hit the Stratosphere!

just sell your car and buy an older one.
wtf don't you want two things that make the car dramatically safer? I sort of get that people like the look of a steering wheel without the bag (like 80s BMWs) and maybe ABS is too complicated or expensive for you to work on, but if I had a dime for everytime I have slid when coming to a stop in the rain...

While I agree that there maybe some benefit to be derived from a good ABS System, the one that is on my Blue XJS has tried to kill me, one too many times!
And I don't exactly trust the ABS that's on my Grey one, so in the absence of any thing better, I'm seriously considering Retro Fitting the old type of Brake Booster System.
