What did you do to or buy for your XJ-S/XJS today?

Jonathan,
Missed your post on my scroll through. Old age does that.
Greg should have chucked a brick across the big lake to get my attenetion, no matter, found it now.
What part of the "rewire system" in particular are you seeking???.
I have rewired the HE 100% under the bonnet, my way, from the bulkhead connectors forward.
Then lots of other little "sort outs" that simply made sense to me.
All this was in 1999-2000, and still works fine, so my Jags (all of them) are super reliable.
No more Lectrickery in any of them.

Grant,
mine was running a little warm on stop and go driving when I received it from the seller... so I was worried and looking for solutions for keeping the temp as it should be... after stressing over it getting warm like that and worrying about dropping the valve seat that every one talks about... I order a fan and have it here in a box... never put in on the car though...
I found that if I checked the coolant level it was LOW... about .4 gallon a day if driving it to and from work and kids to school.... so I kept putting water in it until I got enough water in it and warm enough to find the pin hole leak in the radiator near the top on the said radiator... now I have order new radiator bushings... found a place that will repair it and it runs cool if you keep the right amount of water in it...
has not run warm since but I need to fix it and not keep putting water in it....
bought power steering lines they got here today... 6000lbs jack stands (aluminum)
1 German head light... (what to do with it?)
designing distributor less ignition system and sequential fuel injection

You didn't wish me luck so I failed again! Speedo working fine now (spot on with sat nav), rev counter showing 2000rpm at 100 mph and fuel tank gauge showing full all the time which is a worry as I don't know if the low level warning light works.
A lot of the bulbs don't work.
To cheer myself up bought a new set of shocks and DB7 springs for the rear end.

Steve
can i ask a silly question
does the rev counter only show 2k revs all the time, or does it go up and down when pressing the pedal at stand still , and or does it only show 2k revs when driving
as it might be a gearbox issue ? and not a rev counter issue ??
just thinking out loud ?

It does go up and down but only up to 2k revs and tickover is about 300. When I put it back in the first time it would only go up to 300 but it was working fine before.
The gearbox is fine and she goes like a scalded cat (as she should).
It's just a bad connection somewhere and/or some of the bulbs being in the wrong way round thus breaking the electrical path.
I drove it in the dark last night and couldn't see any instruments at all.
If it is not raining tomorrow I will pull it out and go over it yet again and retest all the bulbs; it was all working fine before apart from the odometer which has been fixed with a replacement.
Persistence is the key here I think.
And I can put the new steering wheel on straight this time!
And the headlining.
