Default who wants headers?

So I was thinking about offering headers to anyone who wants them.

My issue is the equal length headers I'm making take a serious amount if time. Which would equal a lot of money and I know most on here arent absolutely crazy about squeezing every last pony out of there jag.
So I was thinking for anyone who wants headers to offer a set of standard headers similar to the ones available from v12 sales. Out of regular steel, for somewhere in the range of 1000-1100$

Who realistically would be interested in these?
And if anyone wants them in stainless I could do that, as well and if anyone wanted the equal length headers I could do that aswell for the right price

Possibly since it would be one less thing that I'd have to do myself.

What diameter are you ending them with? I was looking at bumping mine to 2.5" so I could lose that lawn mower sound...

That sounds like a decent price, and will likely fit the bill for most people wanting to free up more horsepower. I think it would fill a sizable gap in what's offered for XJS performance parts, because not everyone wants to spend $2,500-$3,200 on a set of stainless headers, when the book value of their cars may not be much more than that. Your idea of offering the headers in mild steel tubing, and pricing them at $1,000-$1,000 is much more realistic for enthusiasts.

I don't have to have stainless, because ceramic coating basically lasts just as long, and keeps things a little cooler. However, I'm wanting equal length long tube headers, and, depending on the direction I take with my project, I may do Group44 style sidepipes, which would require something altogether different. I don't think I'll find what I want offered commercially, and, like you, I'll end up fabricating my own.

They end at 2 inch out of each cone and I was planning on merging them to 2.5 inch so you're right on the money.

That's exactly what I was thinking. On the price because you could maybe pick up a good 10-15 horsepower but added with exhaust intakes would be a good 40ish horsepower.

I also plan on making an aj6 style intake that I would market aswell.
I would just like to get some stuff on the market so people could build and enjoy these cars without breaking the budget or going full tilt into them.
My good friend does Powdercoating so I can get them ceramic coated for anyone who needs them at a reasonable rate.

I'd be keen too, providing the price and shipping is ok (shipping to Australia can be a bit of a killer!). I'd love to see and hear the results.

i want a set, and I don't even have a 12 cylinder !
there is something about 12, a dozen, and the manifolds are 'form and function' with their own beauty.

So, perhaps the sequence is , buy manifolds, then get car.
meanwhile, great piece of art..

Default Headers!!!

Who said Headers? Just what I'm after. And V12 sales? well gave up on them. too hard to order and pay the man.

So I have an 1980 XJs and soon to be completed. I am at the point of
Headers. In fact I,ve been looking for the last 6 months. Either Steel or Stainless would suit me but I want a improved performance benefit.

Will yours flow better or not and then when would we be looking at ordering and delivery, etc.

hey calvin, did you ever end up with a solid order for these?

how long do you think it'd take to actually make a set?
