windshield wiper motor replacement parts
My 1991 XJS window wiper mtor bit the dust and now I am looking for new or used replacement parts. Its a motor made by
AG Electrolux and the motor seems to be frozen up
one option is to rebuild but where do you get parts
the other option is to go to a recovery yard and take one out or
buy new (at cost of $600 to 425)
Any ideas or suggestions.

Any one found a good source of parts.

um...idk I havent had to deal with any issues myself but I have heard one of the issue is the magnets come away from the casing and just require you to refix them. Are the brushes or bearings bad? Do you know why it is frozen up?

The electrolux motor is very good, the entire lever actuated system is much better than the previous cable and wheelbox Lucas system as fitted to my and earlier XJSs. A second hand electrolux motor will be fine, I would say.
The summit racing link above to the Cardone replacement seems a decent price, and as you have the electrolux system, it should go straight on.
Worth removing the old electrolux motor and wiring it direct to a battery to check is really is the motor, though.

Hi Bc xj Thanks for the offer.
Do you know if your wiper motor is one by Electrolux?
Have a picture?
Is it in good working condition or does it need to be rebuilt?
YOu can post reply here or to my email mattaco@aol.com
Thanks again for your suggestion.

We (me and my mechanic) followed up on your suggestion.
Hot wired the motor but no luck, it seems to be frozen.
Later we removed the casing on the linkage and the motor casing as well The motor is rusted up and we could not remove the armature due to the rusting.
I am exploring sending the motor and linkage to the reconditioner for a rebuild. But I do not know if its current condition will make it impossible to rebuild Do you know?
ITs possible that most motors arrive in poor condition and the armature has to be removed with force and replaced. I do not have any experience in that area.
I guess the other option would be to buy a rebuild kit from Electrolux and so it ourselves. Tried to find a parts listing for Electrolux but found only current data on Appliances etc. Know where to find parts for the motor?
Appreciate your feedback.

To reply to your questions.
we hot wired the mtor but no luck.
Later we tried to open the motor up but the case was rusted to the armature and could not get the armature out by usual means. Any suggestions? (ie put it in Mystery Oil or some other solution to break down the rust? Assume any rebuilder would at times have to deal with issues of this sort.
Is a rusted up condition sufficient to junk it or can we overcome this ?
As to buying a a reconditioned unit contact with Summit was not successful as Cardone their re builder had none in stock but did offer to rebuild the old one. However, if its rusted up and can not be freed up then that may not be a viable option.
Any experience and feedback appreciated.

Pity about the old one. Why not send it, "as is" to cardone and see what they can do?
A rebuild kit from Electrolux is not available, I think. BUT, a scrap one must be around if you have a breaker you can deal with. Or, there are loads in the UK. Email Grublogger (google him) he will send you one, that's for sure.
