Re: Fault Code FF-69
Found out the FF69 is Low Voltage (Duh..dead battery and all). To reset it I had to short a yellow wire with a purple connector that is located behind the passenger side heater vent cover. Apparently, shorting out this wire for 3 seconds will reset all fault codes.

Judy, You do not need anything but a phillips head screw driver and a piece of wire about 18" long. Remove the knee board from the passenger side (it is clipped on so just pull it off from the bottom). Remove the cover of the passenger side heater vent (2 screws). Look for a single yellow wire with an UNCONNECTED purple clip on the end (the wire and clip are about 6" long and it should just be dangling there although you may have to look around a little). Turn your key to the second position so that the FF code shows up. Put one end of your 18" jump wire into the purple clip and hold it there with one hand, then ground out the other end to any part of the car (I use the lower knee board clip bracket). Ground it out for about 3-5 seconds until the FF code goes away and the check engine sign goes away too. Reassemble everything and brag to your friends what a genius you are and make them buy you lots of Martinis!

Thanks Malc; I had read this in searching the threads, but also noted on another repair site, it refers to the park / neutral switch which will cause the transmission light to come on, which mine does. This along with jerky shifting. ( earlier post of mine )
is there any site out there which lists the FF codes for our XJS's ?

I just brought my car home from storage. In the boot (trunk) was my Owner's Manual. It lists several Fault Codes, I've scanned and attached the relevant page.
This is an Owner's Manual from '94, so it should be fairly accurate. However, on an earlier page it labels the Cigar Lighter as the Cruise Control Switch, and vis versa!
