Default 95 XJS Turn Signal Problem

Was wondering if someone can help diagnose the problem I'm having with my turn signals. I have a 1995 XJS Coupe and my front and back right side turn signals aren't working. The bulbs are fine. When I use the hazard lights all four signals work fine(including dash lights) and also both front and rear left turn signals operate without a problem. I'm just having an issue with my right side. Also I get a bulb warning light on my dash cluster showing there is a bulb out when they all seem to function.Any ideas on what the problem might be?

First thing I would be looking at is the indicator stalk and wiring. Check the connector, pull it apart and look inside to make sure there are no burn marks, clean it with a cotton bud and Iso alcohol.

I think there is a separate relay for the indicators (separate from the hazard relay).
Can't remember off the top of my head where it is though.
Have you checked all the other bulbs to see if they are working (including the number plate lights) as one of those could be causing the fail light.
If all the others are working then it could either be the relay or the feed wire from it.

I was thinking there may be independent fuses for the left and right side directionals but there isn't. Also thought that it might be an independent flasher but they all seem to go thru the same flasher (turn signals and hazards ) and that works (except when signaling right). Then I thought it may be the ground circuit to the right side but if it were then the hazards wouldn't be working on that side. All this leads me to believe there may possibly be a separate relay for each side or the turn signal switch/wiring going to it. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the turn signal switch and removal instructions? I'm assuming the steering wheel must be removed if the switch is at fault?

In earlier cars the hazard flasher and turn signal relay is one in the same, I wouldn't think that it would be any different in later models.

Your problem is most likely in the wiring harness, as I said check the connectors. Or in the switch.

Well, I managed to remove the cover under the steering column today so I could try and get to the turn signal switch. Looking at a schematic (at the back of the turn signal switch ), it appears that the right side wire is green/white and the left side is green/red. I made contact with a multimeter and found I am not getting anything coming out of the Green/white wire ( Right turn side of the switch). I managed to swap the two wires just to confirm it wasn't the wiring and with the wires swapped the right side then worked. So,now I've got a faulty switch on my hands! Guess things could have been worse. Any ideas on where I might find a good switch for reasonable money?
