Default Brake Reservoir Hose Replacement

On the early XJS cars, the remote brake fluid reservoir feeds the master cylinder via 2 rubber lines.
Now, any time I ask the old parts guys, they instruct me on how I can't use hose for brake fluid, you can't repair that with that, etc. After I've explained why I need it, they never have a safe answer; it's always a guess.

Age is not kind to rubber, so they need to be replaced. What have you used to replace those two lines? I would have to think a neoprene hose would suffice? Or something like fuel injection or power steering cooler hose?

The hose between the reservoir and master cylinder is not hi pressure. I used braided hoses for my car

I used high pressure fuel hose on mine, it has been on there about a year, so far, so good.

You can buy a hose for this purpose at any older Volkswagen specialist, or any number of online stores. It's basically a thick silicone hose with a cloth over braid.

EPDM rubber is the right stuff to resist brake fluid in the feed from the reservoir to the master cylinder: eg
