Agree this is a great initiative.
Have been considering this for some time, but my plan would be to use Teflon (ptfe) insulated 16awg stranded copper cables and to upgrade the connectors to vehicle loom to be water proof like these

I'd definitely be interested. I have a 1992 5.3L which as you know is a different part. It looks like some of the other people here have facelifted 5.3s as well. Do you think you'll be able to do a run of these? I do not have a stock harness on my car to be able to send you as a model.

lots of work and patience , but not too bad once all the right parts are sourced

good luck with the orders

I'm sure I could make the facelift harness but I do not have an original to copy. If anyone has an old harness to offer please contact me.

Thanks!

I have everything ready to go except for the mold I need to create the 8 pin connector. My machine shop is very busy and has not had time to machine the mold for me. As soon as I get the mold then I can complete the harnesses and make them available.

If anyone here (in the US) has a milling machine and has time to make a mold please contact me.

As soon as I have completed harnesses I will post an update.

Thanks!

Mark

Can you 3d print the connectors instead of mill them. They could probably 3d scan the part and then print.
Just an idea

Can you shift the x-linked wire to Teflon coated wire as it will hold up much better to heat in the V12. Just saw your notice as I have been contemplating such a project, I have 3 machines (all V12) . Also how about a harness that enters from the fire wall rather than going clear to the front and under the AC, etc.??? Best, JW

Would like to see harness built with Teflon coated wire and designed to come in from the firewall, rather than the front of the engine and under the AC unit. Teflon will last a lot longer considering the heat in the engine bay. Best, JW

Why not make mold from Plaster of Paris or some such and insert wire plug pins(use jig-plate to hold pins outside the mold for alignment) and pour in an epoxy resin material....silicon mix. Best, JW

Hi Dr,
I appreciate the suggestion but I would prefer to use a material that was more durable and allow me to make many harnesses.
I'm working with a new machine shop now who I think has time to devote to the project. Hopefully they will have something for me soon.

Hi , I made my own harness and $325.00 is an exceptionally good price , it takes a lot more time and effort than you would think .

I have a 94, which seems to have a harness that is lot different from earlier models. I was wondering if anyone has done a harness for 94 or later? The FI wiring makes up only about half of the wiring in the harness. I assume this started with the intro of ECMI and all of the sensor and control wiring associated with it.
Thanks...Jimmy

Safari,

Add another interested party.

Would you be willing to supply individual injector lead assemblies? I'm designing a custom fuel rail and will be replacing the injector harness as well. I wouldn't ask for a custom built harness but I'd love to be able to order a set of leads at some custom length that I could use to construct my own harness!

Safari.......I have an '89 XJS (V12) that's seen a small fire in the engine destroy the entire harness. Do you have anything completed and ready for sale ?? If so, I'm interested NOW and would like to do some business.

Please advise......Smokin' in Cincinnati
