Hi

Although I was unable to read what was written on those front wing badges, when I compared them to the ones of a 'Library Photo' of an Einhardt and Hess they looked exactly the same.

As did the back panel with the built in Speakers and the Tucked away Soft Top (but only you are going to know for sure) because you've actually seen one in the flesh.

The Top's the only thing that really spoils her but put on a brand new Soft Top and I bet the price would Jump!

So maybe that's a blessing in disguise.

I know where you can get a Brand New OEM Soft Top Kit with Original Haarts Stayfast Canvas for the Einhardt and Hess Convertible.

I'm glad She's not a 'right hooker' or the Temptation to buy her would be far too much.

Good luck with what you decide.

The Hess car I was looking at was sold a bit before I called the seller to make an offer. Well that's good, I know he needed to get rid of it. I have found another convertible that I'm going to take a look at. This one is currently a runner so I'm feeling optimistic. If I get the car I'll start a thread and post pictures. Wish me luck!

A vacuum gauge will show up a valve problem easily. The gauge will regularly flicker if there is an intake valve sticking or not sealing well. An exhaust valve sticking open will have a much hotter exhaust port and header pipe, easily diagnosed with an IR thermometer.
