Default fuel filler neck

has anyone got any tips for getting the tank filler neck in past a new o ring? ive had the neck in the freezer overnight, any thing else I should do before trying to push it in? I fitted a new tank and at the time I couldn't get it through the ring so I refitted the old one but have now bitten the bullet to try again.

Much alcohol, for you, not the car.

I have fought that b(*&ard many times.

Rubber Grease, Vaseline, Silicone grease/spray, Brake Fluid, all tried and some more successful than others.

Much foul language works sometimes.

Thes is NO easy way, its a Britsh thing.

Just like Grant said. There's no easy way to do it. A few beers and some swearing did it for me. At first I couldn't get the thing off, I actually removed the tank with the filler neck installed still. Then once I got it removed, it wouldn't go back on. Go figure! At least we can be confident that it's a tight fit and won't be as prone to leakage, right?

done it, with wd40 I tried and tried big lump of wood and club hammer the lot, in the end it just went, the pointless tag on side that supposed to stop it turning when you turn the cap bit of over engineering I feel, altogether it was a right pita,
but worth it, I hope,

SWEET.

I forgot that bloody tag fiasco, I cut them off.

OK if its your car, just turn the fuel cap "carefully" and the outer hose and clamps will stop it rotating. Never had an issue so far.
