Ever see a racing XJS V-12 with a scoop? I don't think relieving the heat was a problem, unless you idle a bunch.

Not with a scoop, as that will not improve under bonnet temps. But, according to TWR and their experience with the ETCC winning XJS, under bonnet heat was a huge problem. Bodywork mods were not allowed, so louvres were not an option; but were the real solution. So TWR went to vast lengths to deal with the heat: huge oil cooling and scavenging mods; bonnet that "by mistake" came open at the back when racing; sump deepened and finned; water and oil top up on the move system partly operated by the driver; huge oil cooler; etc etc.

Ha, ha, excellent wheeze.
Now paint it black and see what it looks like, I think that it will blend in quite well.
It will also aid engine cooling by funnelling rain water into the V between the heads.
Where all the electrics are.

Also exactly the correct height to put daytime running lights in (i.e. bright LED lasers) so that you can blind all the other tosser on the road that use them.

It is a fake scoop front is closed off no air or rain can get inside.
The color matches the convertible top but like I said it is not attached to the hood just sit it on to take pics.
If i were to stick it on with 3m double sided tape I would paint it flat black and also paint the rear spoiler flat black that I have not painted or installed yet.
I put the scoop on my new 07 chevy silverado 9 years ago took it off 2 years ago and you could not tell it had ever been on the truck hood.
