Default Issues with Quick detailer

I 've been using a quick detailer to clean up my black car and it leaves a whitish film on it. I use Meguiars and the correct towels .
Remedy anyone?
Is it safe to use alcohol mixed with water to get rid of it?

Thanks,

Terry

Start by stripping the car back. Good wash first followed by clay bar. This will remove the contamination washing can't.
Go over the car with a good polish followed by 2 coats of wax.

Then use your quick detailer but never in the hot sun or when the car body is hot.

I also use Meguiars and have never experienced this problem.

Thank you for the reply.
But what if my car is already clean, as it's always covered , and I just want to use a quick detailer to enhance the color paint a bit more before a ride ?

I don't really like to wash my car too often so dusting off the dust than using a Quick Detailer is what I like to do, yet it leaves that whitish film .
Solutions?

I would say that's where your problem is. Try using a micro fibre towel to take the dust off first and then go over with the detailer.

Jimbov8,thank you for the reply. I use a micro fibre towel. Don't you think it has something to so with the product itself?
Or the fact that is a black car? It looks like there is some left over wax on my car after cleaning it with the Quick Detailer
I'm puzzled.

Terry,

In my experience, Meguiars Quik Detailer definitely doesn't leave any white residue on dark-coloured cars. I've used it on both black and navy blue cars with no impact.

I would suggest that it's something to do with the wax / finish that is already on your car. As mentioned, I would use a decent wash and clay finishing approach to remove the existing wax or contaminant finish. Then use a Meguiars wax which is then well polished off. After that, try the detailer.

Good luck

Paul

First of all, I wouldn't dust a dry car.
This question is better asked of Meguiar.
