Jaguar Soft Top Care Kit (XJS V12)
Over the Weekend I was having a massive clear out of my Garage, including re-wiring and fitting new overhead lights.
When I came across this, which must have come out of my Red XJS 'Cherry Blossom'
Its a Jaguar 'Soft Top Care Kit' and its even got its own Part Number!
JLM 12136 (No longer available)
Inside the box were Two Bottles of Soft Top Cleaner and a Container of Hide Food, which I don't think was supposed to be in there.
I think the Kit originally must have contained Three Bottles of Soft Top Cleaner.
I must have put the 'Hide Food' in the Box when I last used her 15 years ago but I think there is supposed to be a Cleaning Brush included in the Kit.
Does anyone know?
It must have been purchased by the PO as I have never used this stuff before.
I also found some other Soft Top Cleaner but its all written in 'German' so maybe 'Daim' or someone knows what it is.

I never clean the hood or waterproof it and I never go out in the rain! lol
And always put the Car Cover on, if She's in the garden while I stop for a break to have a Cup of Tea.
There are a lot of Cats round my way and not of the Jaguar kind, so the very last thing I want to do, is come back and find another ***** in my Car.

OB,
I was pretty sure that I had one of these kits. When clearing up the garage today, I found it!
My part number is JLM 21084. This was later superseded to your part number JLM 12136. It's listed by Jaguar as the Care Kit for a facelift XJS convertible. The kit is shown in my (poor quality) photo below and comprises:
- a bottle of hood cleaner
- a tin of hood reproofer
- a good quality Harris paint brush
- a good quality bristle cleaning brush
- a pair of protective gloves
- a cotton / lint cloth
Of course, I'll have to keep it for nostalgia reasons and therefore can't use it!
