Default Leather Dye and misc.

Does anyone know of any leather dye shops that match Jaguar interior color, other than leatherique?

I have Barley, AFW and while leatherique has worked great in the past with this color, I just tried spraying with a can I purchased a few months back and they sent me something closer to doe skin. the color match is horrible. Its not even a match. They are also very expensive, so I blew $40 on a can of spray dye. I can't keep blowing $40 until they get it right.

Also, is there a clear coat that is not shiny? Is leather clear coat similar to exterior pain clear coat? Would the same techniques to dull an exterior finish be used to dull a leather clear coat?

While Im on the subject of interior, What about floor mats? Or carpet sold by the roll?

I highly recommend you take a visit to a Saddle shop (where they actually build saddles) They use several dyes or clear coats on a daily basis. They most certainly would know which manufacturer would have it in stock. Talk to a professional saddle maker my advise.

Furniture Clinic can provide all you need:

Furniture Clinic - Leather Care, Leather Cleaner, Furniture Repair & Restoration

They do matt and gloss sealants so you can mix to create satin or any variation in between.

I ordered and received an exact AFW match from this site:
The Repair Wizard | DIY repair kits
Can't find invoice right now but will look. Think I bought it on ebay but unable to find link.
Worked fine for me.

Do you recall what size you purchased? Did you re-dye the entire interior?

sorry for the delay... I bought the 2 oz size for touch up work. I had to work it in after applying then wipe to get the final match, considering wear and age of the original. This is the site: Jaguar colours

Purchased through ebay, UK The repair wizard

hoodun,

When using the Furniture Clinic products on my 94, I mixed a little gloss and matt sealer together to get a more satin-looking finish which felt closer to the original and matched the seats.

See how you get on with the matt, but if you're not happy, you can just reseal with a gloss / matt mix.

Good luck

Paul

Thanks for this. The order has not shipped yet so I just had it switched to a satin. He said satin is used 99% of the time for interior, "especially jaguar".
