OB,
2 suggestions:
- You really might want to consider Bluetooth capability - because it facilitates music streaming rather than through a hard-wired line-in capability, and secondly because it can facilitate hands-free mobile phone interface
- Search for "12-pin to ISO car adapter" on ebay and you should easily find that second plug adapter which you need.
Cheers
Paul

Cheers, I'll check it out and Bluetooth would be useful as you say.

Wiring Harness Adaptor Doesn't Seem To Fit!
Update: Having wanted to replace my Original Pull out Stereo with a More Modern Unit, the one thing that I wanted, was to be able to do so without cutting any wires.
And so in order to do this, I bought a Wiring Harness Adaptor: PC2-66-4 which according to the description was the one I needed.
But having received this Harness Adaptor I find that it won't fit (its not even close)
Before I purchased this Harness I did quite a lot of research, in which I was unable to find any alternatives.
Although this Adaptor PC2-66-4 was also suggested by one or two Forum Members, I know that they did so in good faith, as I would have also chosen this one myself and in any event the Final decision was mine.
So don't feel bad guys, its just one of those things.
I can always send it back and get a refund or maybe swop it for a different one, although according to the description it should fit an XJS.
Have I missed a Trick somewhere? maybe I'm doing it wrong, so I could really use some help from anyone who has bought an Adaptor that fitted without any problems.

OB,
I'm guessing that the issue lies in the fact that you're still looking at part of the old unit.
The Jaguar wiring plug that I'd expect to see (which plugs into the PC2-66-4) is presumably plugged into the back of this pull-put case, which you'll be removing as part of your installation of the new unit.

What would I do without you, Doh!
That would never have occurred to me in a Million years!
I thought the Adaptor Harness would plug into what I can see when I look in the hole.
Any ideas as to how I should remove the Old case?
Do I pull the knobs off the Air Con and then have to drill out the rivets or something like that?

OB,
I'm not really sure on the pre-facelift cars. But my guess would be that you remove the aircon controls and surround plates. Then you'll possibly see the mount screws for the frame of the pull out. After removing, gently pull the whole frame out and disconnect the wiring plug, earth point and aerial socket which I'm guessing are all mounted on the back of the pull-out frame. As I said, I'm just guessing how that pull-out frame is mounted, but I'm sure it will be something like that. Very surprised if you have to drill out rivets.
Have a look back at my link post to my JEC thread and it might be similar. I think they all require the air con controls to come off to get to the mount screws.
Good luck
Paul

Pull off the knobs on the aircon. You will see a circular chrome "nut" round the knob spindles with two slots opposite each other. Use these to unscrew this "nut" and the trim panel comes off to reveal whatever is holding in the radio thingy. Be careful removing the trim surround as it has fibre optic leads going to the lettering surrounding the knobs, which provide the patheic illumination to them at night! The F.O. leads can be pulled out of the trim panel, but getting them back in is tricky as the whole thing is gimcrack in the extreme.

This is sounding quite promising but I haven't yet bought the Stereo as first I wanted to make sure that this new Wiring Harness was going to fit.
Thanks Again

Hi XJ6 VDP
No I did not and as a result I had to hard wire the New Stereo for my XJS using bullet connectors.
I am not an Auto Electrician and I have never ever fitted a Stereo before but having now done so I can report that it is really dead easy and almost a 'Walk in the Park'
I don't suppose I'll manage to talk you out of it but why anyone would want to fit an Original Pull Out Radio is beyond me.
Except of course if you want to keep the Retro Look and Feel but as for Sound my 'el cheapo' Stereo £17 walks all over it.
This is how I did it right here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...celift-173611/
