Default V12 at 24 hours of LeMons

I'm guessing there are other lemmons racers here, I thought this article may be of interest for them
http://www.roadkill.com/eight-cylinders-bad-twelve-cylinders-good-v12-engines-lemons-racing/

For those not familiar with this, it's a Yankee parody of the 24 hours of LeMans race except that the cars are lemmons (junkers) that must be under "$500" excluding safety equipment like roll cages, seats etc. The reality is that most "group A" cars are more like $5k to $10k cars (cheating and bribing the tech inspectors is part of the game plan). I've been doing the local races for a few years, albeit in a 240sx, not a jag. I floated the "hey we can get a craigslist jag for cheap" to the team, and they were going to commit me to the asylum 😅

All kinds of weirdos show up, with a variety of builds here's a sampling

Fun stuff! Good article and some nice XJ-s's

"Yes, when an XJ-S comes by with all 326 cubic inches singing through a pair of Cherry Bomb glasspacks, all conversation stops for a moment."

Fun, indeed!!! I was particulry drawn to the "Retro Caballo de hierro"!!
I recall seeing Ak MIller's creation come into Juarez, Mexico in a Pan American race circa 1952!!!

Up the road a piece, some guys got one of those Asian sourced cars that are almost square. As they resemble "toasters", "bread slices"
were created for the roof tops.

Old Jaguars and even old Lincolns have raced....

I think the last one was at Altamont, a historic raceway, that finally succumbed to politics.

I race an X-Type in LeMons in the North East, first race with it was just a few weeks ago at NJMP. We have a little to work out to improve handling, but it is a great car and ran 90% of the weekend. Yes, it did finish just a small electrical issue that took a bit to figure out but an easy fix. Good to see other Lemons guys on here.
