Absolutely lovin' this post. Very inspiring! Thanks for posting!

Unfortunately I am still in the bronze miles club as the most I have done (yet) is 6 hrs round trip 346km/215miles which was one of our QLD JF meets last year. Sunshine Coast to Lamington National Park up near Mt Tambourine.

Nice drive. No dramas except my speedo died on the way home (but came back to life and then died again!) I am actually going to repair it this month.

Also I am hoping to clock up 800kms in March from the Sunshine Coast to Tenterfield NSW for the next JF QLD + NSW interstate meet then I might get a Silver Miles Club Membership!

Mine's my semi-daily driver. I use it to commute to the university a few days a week, and a few other things, but for local shopping and very short trips (5-10 mins) we use my wife's tiny kei car. Two reasons for that: one is that I've often read short trips where the engine can't warm up properly aren't good, and the second is that some of those supermarket parking spaces can be narrow. I don't want her dinged by careless shoppers.
Also, days like today when it's snowing I take the kei car, as it has snow tyres on....

On a side note, I drove into town the other day about 100km round trip and with the 3.58 diff and 4speed OD (4L60e) I averaged 9.5l/100km. About 2000rpm @ 100km/h

I took the GF to Cadburys World (where they make the Chocolate) in Bournville Birmingham (UK) in my 88 XJS V12 Coupe a few years ago.

This is the Place to go to if you are a 'Chocoholic' (or maybe stay away from Lol) An Amazing day out with loads of free samples, where you can see how its all made.

It cost more in Petrol to get there and back than the Farmhouse we rented for the Weekend but all the same very well worth it.

A really fascinating and delicious day out.

I think that is "funny" and "weird" at the same time...

Drove to town with a 100 km total... I knew Australia was vastly empty, but a 50 km drive each direction to go shopping... Wow!

I live really really really "countryside like". Meaning, we live in a village with more cows than people and at 9 pm the street lights are turned off... But my nearest supermarket is less than 5 minutes BY FOOT away. The next one is a mere 6 minutes away...

I had a trip to Finland. This country is really empty.
I have not met a single car to the meeting for an hour.

What color is my car? mmm. Sorry, I do not know. Her name is Lemon.

I only have one it is operational ATM, all of the work I'm doing is on the side. It will come off the road when the new engine is ready.

Me too, we live in dairy farm country so our back neighbors are cows, we do live on the outskirts of a small village with a supermarket a 20min walk away.

Australia is vast, Anna Creek Station ( a cattle ranch) is 24,000km2 which is nearly the size of Belgium and 7 times larger than the biggest Ranch in the USA.

My longest drive is about 2500km in a long weekend. It's an annual trip to a Jaguar show.

Daim: My mother in law is a similar situation, the closest town that has a shop is about 60 km away. That's where they go to get groceries and where their mail goes to. They have a nice house in the country on 160 acres, which is a piece of land 1/4 mile by 1/4 mile. Has a beaver pond and a moose meadow with rolling hills and forest. Nearest neighbour is about 3km away. Great in the summer to bring out the clay pigeon thrower and the shotguns for a round of trap. Doesn't take long to go through a case of ammunition and no one around to complain.

A few years back we took a 7 day trip to Yellowstone, Cody Wyoming and ended up in Grand Teton National Park. Lucky enough to travel with a great group of fellow British car lovers and we had the only XJS on the trip.

Attached a few photos we took on the trip. Hope you all have a chance to make the trip to Yellowstone and see the Grand Tetons in person.

Ah, Yellowstone. Wonderful place. Been there several times, as I have relatives in Montana, but never got down to the Big *******. Yellowstone is lovely. My favourite part is perhaps the Lamar Valley and the Grand Canyon (of the Yellowstone, not that overrated Arizona ditch). (The Beartooth Pass is also spectacular.)
The thermal areas aren't bad (I prefer Grand Prismatic and that area to Old Faithful or the Norris Geyser Basin), but there's huge areas of the south of the park that even now aren't fully recovered from the '88 fires, so aren't so impressive. Up from the Hayden Valley to Lamar Valley is magnificently open, untouched scenery, which just beckons you to get out and start walking until all signs of civilization are gone, and your body is found four years later with grizzly tooth marks in your skull, signifying your grisly end....
Next time you're up that way, check out Glacier National Park. Even more stunning than Yellowstone, though much more mountainous.

Hidden Lake, Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park is high on my list to visit in the next few years. Our Corvette club is heading up to Northern Idaho this summer so that might be the best time to head over to Glacier.

Attached a few more photos of a trip our British car club took to Stanley, Idaho.
Great seeing how the XJS looks against an E type and XK8. The XJS loves the open highway and eats up the miles effortlessly with style and comfort.

That really shows how fat and bloated the XK8 is. It's a lovely design, definitely, but doesn't have anything like the ethereal lightness of the E-Type.

E type and xk8 are definately different but l think "fat and bloated" might be a bit strong.
