Got the amber indicator that looks like a person with a big ball in their lap.
Anyone got any ideas what can be causing this?

Go to YOUTUBE and input CLOCK SPRING or CLOCKSPRING. There are several videos showing how to remove and install a Clock Spring in different vehicles. No Jaguars of course, but it'll give you an idea of just what a clockspring is.
It's bascically a bundle of wire that winds up as you turn the steering wheel back and forth. Most likely one of the wires in the clockspring is making an intermittent connection which in turn causes the code you have.......high resistance and in an open wire.
