Default Leather Care

Can anyone suggest a product to "unskuff" seat leather?

On black or "warm charcoal" interiors, I used any liquid shoe polish with the sponge applicator. I wipe off with a clean dry cloth. Repeat as needed.

I use same as Tberg but use paste from the round tins. Rub it in and use horse hair brush to buff out. Repeat if nescessary. Blacks or browns are easy. Lighter colors not so easy.

There are several sources for dye for Jaguar leather. The one I like best is SURFLEX made by Color Plus - it is a water based polymer which bonds to the leather and gives a perfect factory finish; I have used this in over 25 restorations and it always gives excellent results. But the ideal is to have it matched to the leather in *your* car, and that requires sending a sample of the leather or matching vinyl, unless they have the colour formula already.
The "scuffing" is typically on the driver's seat bolster and it is the result of rubbing the bolster on entry and exit. A little care in getting into the car can avoid this issue entirely.

Even if a company has a formula, the colors change over time due to fading, exposure, age. Best thing to do is take a part of your interior out and have it matched to that color. Voice of experience on this one. /cough
