Default Looking for a jaguar mechanic referral in San Francisco

Fell in love with the xkr, bought it and then realized I don't know a human being to work on it. This my Step #1

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so I'm answering myself. I followed yelp ratings and landed at Johns Jaguar of SF. Had a brake light bulb go out so I perfect excuse to stop by and introduce myself. Seems like a good guy, replaced my bulb for free. We shall see. Nice talking to me.

Thanks for posting up with your "find"... but let's hope you don't have to use the guy for anything more than a bulb.

Do you have a valuable alternative? Please share.

I'll take that as an official heads up. What's plan B?

All the best,

Dennis

Sorry, guys... I was a bit unclear there. I was just wishing trouble-free driving to the OP, with nothing more than lightbulbs to replace. And no, no alternatives known to the dealership (yet). I've taken mine to Cole a couple of times so far, once for its annual maint and once to replace the front splitter; each time was a positive experience.

That said, I know that the customer will pay TOP dollar for parts if they buy 'em through Cole...

I'm live in Oakland, and I work in Concord. Took my 07 xkr to Cole European in Walnut Creek (Jag dealer) a couple of days ago to look at the check engine (which was a code p0442, minor evap leak). Their estimate was $1060 to replace the DMTL pump. (and as I was warned about them, they also came up with a list of "recommendations"), Five minutes after they called me with the estimae a buddy with several Jags came by my office, told me to take it to Bacchus British in Dublin (independant shop specializing in jags, Bentley, RR). $621 out the door, (his estimate was $640)car still looked and smelled like new, the guy dropped me off and picked me up at bart (that's our intercity train system for those outside the bay area). Clean work. I'll recommend him.

I've used Joe's Foreign in Walnut Creek for at least 10 years for my 2000 S-Type. They are almost next to Cole on N. Main. I haven't taken my XK to them yet since I still have a couple months warranty left. They've done good work and have been reasonably priced.
