Default XKR-S GT Dyno and Mods

Just wanted to post the pre mod dyno of the GT that we had on dyno this morning. I will be posting an after modification dyno also with some video. Video is kind of hard as the car was so loud that the sound was cutting in and out on camera. Just to let everyone know I am doing a viezu tune and pulley from mike @eurotoys and also milltek high flow cats.

I'm interested to see what your results are especially since you have high flow cats.

That is around 50HP more stock then my XKR which is inline with stock figures.

I'm betting 550-560 at the wheels with the cats, pulley and tune.

The power shown is uncorrected, so assuming it was about 11 degrees C and 1007 Mbar, it would be about 482 SAE NET rwhp, still a very good base line!

Avos-out of curiosity and future reference how did you arrive at that number? We see so many Dyno charts and it would be nice to be able to come to a correct HP. Some have been pretty close, while others have been way off.

Thank you!

There are so many different dyno's it’s hard to compare them side by side, and assuming all environmental data is correct, and no operator errors, there can still be differences if the units haven't been calibrated (lately or correctly). Also there are 2 different SAE corrections, NET and STD (old one, and should not be used anymore), STD will under certain environmental conditions correct way higher then NET.

So best is to do a check on the same dyno, similar conditions, and use the SAE NET correction, then at least you can see the improvement. Russduka can always ask for a corrected print, it’s just a calculation, but that can be done with the after results so you have both on the same paper.

Ahh the correction, I didn't even notice it as all the Dynos I've seen lately have been "uncorrected"

Max, Can you give us your corrected numbers. It will be nice to have comparable numbers.

The only difference is the rear box. There was supposed to be more of a difference but the cars that came over to north america didn't receive same exhaust as uk spec cars due to xkrs exhaust already being at legal noise regulation limit for cars in states We have high flow cats in place and pulley on. They will finish car off tomorrow morning and then mike from eurotoys will remap car. I will also remove fuse so exhaust valves are always open

Lets not assume because it was actually closer to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The baseline of car was actually done to see what the change is in hp before and after. And also i Don't appreciate you trying to knock my numbers down either

Andre isn't knocking anything, he is simply referencing the SAE standard that allows comparing dyno data across different days and conditions.

Some description of the standard and the calculation:
https://wahiduddin.net/calc/cf.htm

And a handy dandy calculator:
Dyno Correction Factor Calculator

482 SAE NET rwhp is very respectable. Given that the crank hp from the factory is conservatively rated at 550 you are doing good at 567 (482/85), considering a 15% delivery loss to the rear wheels through the drive train. Doing corrections so everyone has common ground for comparison is desirable not only for your individual comparison but for you to be able to compare your results against other members like Max. It will be interesting to see how your numbers compare to other members numbers. The only way to do this is to correct for any known variations. I'm sure no one is trying to disrespect your XKR-S GT numbers. I'd love to see your numbers go off the charts but they mean nothing unless we understand them.

How does Mike do the tune? Is he selling you a tuner for your car like we have for the Rica tune?

I just took the temp and pressure of 8 o'clock in staten island as you said it was a run in the morning, and used the sea net calculation as an example, for a very valid question from MaximA.

Sorry for being insensitive, i'll stay out then.

Here is my Dyno which was done on a Dyno Jet.

The environmental conditions were 82.24 F 30.26 in-Hg, 16% Humidity.

Keep in mind I had a pulley on the base run but that really does noting as it just spools to the max 9 PLBS a bit quicker then is cutoff by the ECM. I actually think it hurts it in the upper range.

I also have a RSC Exhaust with a bad baffle, which is causing some added back pressure. Not sure if that made a difference or not my car just sounds like a 747 under heavy load.

I'm really interested to see the before and after Delta as that is the real difference and those cats should help quite a bit. I may be ordering a full Miltek system after these results.

Good luck with the tune I look forward to seeing the numbers!

Nice charts and much appreciated. Can someone, who knows what they're doing, chime in to correct the charts so we may compare them. None the less, Max's uncorrected chart shows significant gains. I hope Russduka achieves similar gains or better. After the tunes the only other test will be track performance numbers. I know Max is waiting for his ECM to come back from Eurocharged after the dealer messed it up.

The other point about environment-corrected figures is that they mean you can do a more accurate before/after comparison even if the temp & pressure during the two sessions is different, which is normally the case unless you're very lucky. A baseline is only relevant if the next session is done under identical conditions, or if both are corrected.
