Default Blacked Out and Lowered

I have a lowly 2007 XK and wanted to sport it up a bit.

1) removed muffler, replacing it with straight pipes. Saved 30lbs of weight and it roars.

2) removed ughly Ford Taurus grill bar and replaced with Mina's top and bottom grill.

3) Plasti dipped window trim flat black. (harder than it looks on youtube)

4) painted rear trunk "Jaguar" moulding gloss black.

5) removed the Sentas cosmetic 8mm wheel bolts (15 per wheel) for painting
and painted the wheels gloss black

6) painted brake calipers red

7) Lowered the car about 1" with H&R springs. No scraping and made ride only slightly tighter. Nice!

Getting a lot of attention now. Not your grandpas Jag any longer!

Great stance. Looks really sharp! The wheels look great painted gloss black. How much of a drop did the springs bring it down? Any difference in ride quality? Did you have a shop install the springs? Scraping issues?

Have you thought about installing wheel spacers? 1/2" wider might look good?

7) Lowered the car about 1" with H&R springs. No scraping and made ride only slightly tighter. I have a lot of speed bumps and a steep drive way and had no problems. Just take them a little slower. Nice! I've been enjoying sport mode so much I haven't even put it just in drive which should smooth ride out even more. For how much it's lowered it's hard to tell there is anymore harshness at all. Maybe a few others will chime in on that. H&R seems to have made the springs right! My first test was to take the car to 120mph and it was rock smooth. Didn't pull at all, but a 4 wheel alignment will be in the near future for me.
Yes a shop installed them for me and said they were quite hard to install. He has a very expensive wall mounted spring compressor and he said it was at it's limits and he was glad I didn't try to do it on my own with the cheap spring clamp compressors.

Spacers maybe next. I believe for a 2007 XK they are 25mm fronts and 15mm rears.
Haven't tried Maui's twistys yet, but i'm sure there will be less wallow and body roll! Thirty eight miles of twistys up to 10,000ft to the top of Mt Haleakala.

Hawaii.....here you go. I flipped the photos for you.

Many years ago I did the 27 mile bike ride down the volcano which was a blast. We started with rain gear and coats to end up riding in shorts and short sleeve shirts. I am sure this ride in a Jaguar would be awesome and FUN.

Read the title and was thinking here's another catastrophe..but no,that looks really sharp!

Pictures tell the whole story. Now we need to hear it.

Are you are using an iPhone? If so, it's because all images are stored in landscape.

Easiest way to rotate the images is in Windows Paint if you don't have photo editing software.

Very well done. Good taste to keep the wheel rivets bright - gives the wheels more texture than all black.

I have done nearly all of your mods to my R (drop, spacers (on stock wheels but not the aftermarket ones), open exhaust, blacked out rear Jag, red calipers are stock. I just posted a message about powdercoating my wheels too! You are right its not grandpa's XK! My car sounds like a monster quite literally. And its like an event when I drive it. I am amazed how many people take pics, gawk or yell out at me.

There are times I want to sell it because I miss having a 3rd pedal. But every time I get back in and drive I remember why I bought it. It just ticks so many boxes!
