Default Cannot apply park brake light/ park brake fault

having issues with my EPB thus just started. I have not had any work done to the rear breaks to start. I haven't seen any of the brake reset directions for the XK. I've tried engaging the brake and the park brake fault yellow icon comes on. The car is drivable but makes the annoying beep. The battery was tested at 70 by the local autozone and recharged. This is a headache and simply annoying. Is there a reset or anything I can do before I take it to the shop

Disconnect one battery cable and touch it to the other battery cable for a second or two. This resets all the volatile memory. Some things may have to be put back to normal, such as window travel, possibly seat memory, and unlikely but radio stations.

In the 5 years of owning my xkr, i have never applied the parking brake on my car, it always gets tested during its MOT, so must work fine, i never park on hills and just leave it in P.

If the battery cable touch doesn't work [and I suspect that it won't] it could be a failed part. I believe the three main parts are: the switch, the EPB module and the EPB motor.

i think the switch is work but i dont here the epb motor engage when i push the switch down. I think it may be the motor itself. Im hoping its just the module
