Default Steering wheel

07xk This is my steering wheel. The plastic on the bottom of the steering wheel looks horrible. It's scratched up and peeled off. Is there anything anyone has done that makes this look better?

Carefully sand it smooth, then mask off nearly the entire interior except for that spot; base coat/clear coat it with a good quality paint. Should take you about two hours.

It is painted and it also is removable, just lift from the bottom with a plastic trim tool.

I'm guessing that part isn't sold anywhere already painted is it? That would make it too easy.

Nope, comes with the wheel. Not hard to remove though or paint. The color is titanium or tungsten and finished with a satin clear.

I didn't even know that it was removable. Now I do. Guess I should have checked.

might I suggest an even more subtle color such as Fluorescent Orange in high gloss robbing? Just the one side though lest it look tacky...

On a serious note, if you're not comfortable with DIY, pop the piece off as jahummer noted and take it to a body shop. Maybe remove all to ensure color match.

If color match is important, the body shop suggestion is a good one. However removing every bit to color match would be a lot of effort and cost. It looks like there may be a bit of wear on the steering wheel too. Honestly my suggestion would be to pick up a new wheel on eBay for a few bucks, you could even get a 2012 new style wheel as well.
