Warning lights: engine / airbag / roof / pedestrian system
Love my Jaguar xk convertible however at random warning lights show. Is below normal? Thank you so much in advance!
>Engine light: When it’s very cold outside and I start the car the orange engine symbol lights up. The warning message says: 'restricted performance’. After a while driving the warning goes away. . Is this normal?
>Roof light: Next to the button that operates the roof is a little light that shines orange indicating a fault. Garage checked and fixed something on the roof. However the light still goes but only when my headlights are on. Is that normal?
>Airbag: Recently a few times at random the passenger ‘airbag off’ light lit up randomly and was off randomly. Is this normal?
>Check pedestrian system: This lights up at rare random moments. Is this normal?

PLEASE NOTE: Almost ALL symptoms like this are caused by low battery voltage. You need to replace your battery and to fit a battery maintainer (CTEK is the preferred brand). You will find that there is nothing wrong with the Jaguar - it is all down to a battery below optimal voltage. The symptoms are exactly those your describe plus many others.
Once you have a new battery a battery maintainer will keep it at full charge always; you will have no further problems.

The centre console area is illuminated by a small lamp from the overhead console. This is on whenever the side lamps are on and can be controlled by the dimmer switch.
