Default Jaguar's 80th Anniversary Celebration Mille Miglia Drive

Autoweek Magazine just reported that "Jaguar is celebrating its 80th anniversary by fielding nine famous cars at the Mille Miglia race May 14-17 in Italy. Drivers will be pulled from motorsports, music and the entertainment industry to pilot the classic Jags. The 1,000-mile race from Brescia to Rome and back to Brescia will feature three C-types, three D-types, an XK120, an XK140 and a MK VII.

The C-types will be driven by five-time Le Mans winner and sports car driver Derek Bell, Jaguar vehicle integrity chief engineer Mike Cross and Royal Automobile Club motoring committee chairman Ben Cussons. Ian Callum will drive the D-type “Long Nose” that finished second at Le Mans in 1957. British TV chef James Martin will pilot the second D-type and classic-car expert Simon Kidston will drive the third."

For the full story and more photos, see: 9 classic Jags you won't be driving in the 2015 Mille Miglia | Autoweek Note that the driver of the D-type "Long Nose", Ian Callum, is the designer of the current alloy-bodied XK/XKR and F-Type. A nice place of honor.
