Talking 1999 XK8 back up fog lights

I LOVE THOSE REAR FOG LIGHTS!!!!! They should be called "Back-off Fog Lights"

Here in Washington state (and other states I suppose) people LOVE to tailgate you. It's almost like they all think they are in the Indy 500 and are drafting your car!!!

I turn those little super-nova's on every time I drive, day or night. They are so stinking bright that everyone stays back at least 100 feet!

LOVE THOSE PAINT BLISTERING REAR FOG LIGHTS!!

I'm surprised you haven't gotten a ticket yet. Most, if not all states have laws against having white lights facing backwards on a vehicle (except when backing up of course).
Years ago I had an old Caddy with a spotlight and I'd use that on tailgaters. One time I did that to a tailgater and it turned out to be an unmarked cop. He was not impressed to say the least.

The rear fog lights are red, I wired mine to work as brake lights. I think just having them on all the time is a little over the top although I have flashed mine independent of the brake lights due to a tailgator and they do back off.

Since he called them the back up lights I figured he meant the regular white back up lights...

I would not recommend that in Florida. Road rage is rampart, you would need bullet proof lens on the light and glass in the windows!

I use a simple method to get tail gaters off my butt. Just wash your windscreen, put the wipers onto fast speed and spray a lot of water. Watch in your mirror, the spray that is flicked over your car from the windscreen washer fouls up their windscreen and they back off and wash their windscreen. If they creep up again, just repeat the washing process and foul their windscreen again. It works a charm! I have seldom to never had a tail gater came back for round 3. Generally they will hang back after round 2, or they will pass you as soon as they can.
Jumping on the brakes and shining bright lights at them just evokes road rage as mentioned earlier. This windscreen washer method is simple and innocent, but very effective. Try it!

I used to have a '65 VW Micro Bus that would barely do 55-60 on a good day but even though I stayed in the slow lane I still got a lot of tailgaters. The rear bumper was mangled so I replaced it with a section of wooden railroad tie and put a bumper sticker on the back that said "I Brake For Tailgaters". That seemed to work pretty well and I really did brake for them. Then they would just pass me and flip me off as they went by.

No...I don't have them creep up and THEN turn on the rear fog lights. I turn them on when I first get in the car and the tailgaters simply stay back because they are very bright.

Is it not illegal to use fog lights when it's not foggy, I just wondered as it is here in the uk.
I think it is a little selfish to have them on all the time .What about cars you overtake , they will be dazzled until you are well past them .
