Another "green shower" story
During the year and half that we've owned "the Cub" I've come to despise the prior owners' poor care of this beautiful transport. I found evidence of the "green shower" while repairing the rear view mirror. After extensive research, I figured I was prepared to do the repair myself. That research also led me to a web site, Jaguar Convertible Top Leak, and Marvin Johnson. There was an immediate connection with Marvin, so I decided that having him do the job would be faster, easier and more professional than my bumbling. Marvin came to me, 2 days early, nearly completed the job that day, except for interesting, intelligent conversation and my education into the mechanics of the roof system.
If you've suffered the "green shower", you'd do yourself a favor by giving Marvin a call (404-759-6600). He comes to you, does and excellent job, keeps your ride clean. Just look at my wife's happy face after 2 summers of not being able to drop the top.

Thanks to Marvin
Just wanted to say thanks to the forum and Marvin.
I was able to get my convertible top fixed from not opening and the Green shower. Most estimate were $4000-$6000 to get fixed.
Marvin was able to fly out and fix it right in my garage and it works excellent and for 1/3 of the price.
when he got to my house he was working on it within 10 mins of being there and never looked up again for 10 hours.
I'm thankful, this completes an almost full restoration
call him for help..404-479-6600

Scott has one of the finest Jaguar XK8's that I have worked on yet. Beautiful car.
Prior to flying out to Colorado to clean Scott's Green Shower, he and I talked over the phone and we figured out over the phone how to go into defensive action to help save his headliner and molding from being destroyed. Scott did a great job cleaning the affected area and I had very little to do in terms of saving the headliner once I got to his home. So kudos to Scott.
Most Jaguar Green Showers are not as bad as the above video. Most of the Jaguar Green Showers start with a few drips from the map light area and drips down onto the center console, this would be the perfect time to go into defensive mode to save the headliner pieces because the drips then get progressively worse.
When I get calls on the Green Shower repair ( Jaguar Part HJB8256AB ), I always advise my customers not to use the roof anymore more then I instruct them over the phone, how to remove the map light and clean the " Green Shower " hydraulic fluid. Again, if you catch it early it usually can be cleaned up pretty good
Out of ALL the green shower repairs I have done, I have only seen One (1) headliner, that could not be brought back to life and saved. This customer kept using the top and re-filling the pump for about a year.
In the event the jaguar green shower it not caught early, I can usually do a pretty good job getting the headliner back in decent shape once I get onsite to do the repair. Hope this helps.

Another Jaguar Green Shower Repair - Jagaur XK8
Hi Guys,
If you guys are considering having this repair done or replacing Jaguar Part HJB8256AB....take 5 minutes and give Scott a call and ask him about his experience.
I'm sure he'd be happy to talk to you.
Here's a picture of Scott's beautiful Jaguar XK8 after the Jaguar XK8 Green Shower repair.
Top works now perfectly and I/we were able to save the headliner and molding on the "A" pillars.
Great job Scott!
Regards,
Marvin

Green Shower Repair
If you've been the victim of the XK8/XKR Convertible Top "Green Shower," or the "Green Drip," or the "Green Rain," here's some information that I hope you will find incredibly helpful. I would have loved to have read something like this when I researched this COMMON PROBLEM.
I had the "Green Drip" experience with my 2005 Jaguar XK8 Convertible recently (November, 2014), and didn't know exactly where to turn. I read LOTS on the internet (THANKS TO THE FORUM), and spoke with about everyone I could about the problem, including my local Jaguar folks, who I like and respect A LOT. They just don't do many of these repairs, their price is expectedly high, and it is incredibly helpful to know where every clip, bolt, screw, washer, fastener, etc. is located so as not to break anything while accomplishing this MAJOR repair.
I know that it's hard to put one's trust in internet advertisements, and long-distance information, but I did serious homework and located Marvin Johnson, from Atlanta, GA, (404-759-6600) (JaguarTopRepair.com or JaguarConvertibleTopLeak.com) who manufactures the replacement lines (far superior to Jaguar's), and will travel to your location for this VERY TIME CONSUMING and intricate repair. I contacted references from Marvin's recently completed repairs, and was pleased with what I learned, as they had been.
I couldn't be more satisfied with Marvin's knowledge, carefulness, and capabilities, having watched EVERY MINUTE OF THE REPAIR. It is not an easy task, and you want a proven specialist to do this job. Marvin does these all the time.
The leaked Hydraulic fluid is very caustic, it deteriorated some of the rubber Header-Seal that runs down the A pillar, and it messed up the fabric, which can be easily replaced. There's a great YouTube from Sam on how to recover these A pillars.
I'm a retired attorney in Iowa. I would not be writing this review if I weren't convinced of Marvin's skills and knowledge. I highly recommend Marvin as a person you can trust to do the job right, to stand behind his work, and treat you fairly.
I am happy to discuss more about the "Green Shower" if you have questions, and I offer this recommendation because of my totally excellent experience.

This appears to be the same person referenced by Firegirlpam in her first post. Quite a different experience.

http://www.jaguartoprepair.com/ shows the newer designed jaguar fittings and hose.
Again, a Jaguar technician stated when the convertible top begins to unlatch, assist the top movement with your hand, the same when it begins to latch.
This is the point where the hoses are at peak stress levels at the latch assembly. However your hand assist will reduce time spent in that critical zone extending the life of your hoses.

Yet Another Green Shower Repair
Meet Don and Julie from the Los Angeles Ca area.
I flew out to Los Angeles to work on Don and Julie's 1999 Jaguar XK8 that had just gotten the dreaded Jaguar Green Shower.
I ended up changing all 6 hoses on the car. If I remember correctly this car had just over 42,000 miles on it. This car was truly mint and the biggest concern Don had was NOT to damage his car. No problem there.
Like most Jaguar owners, most of my customers have been truly decent people who just love their Jaguars. Don and Julie were no exception. I even ended up meeting some of their friends too (25 or so) one guy of which had a Jaguar museum I visited that housed a Jaguar xj220. The first one I had ever seen. It was covered in plastic and I think had 400 miles or so on it.
Don and Julie are also somewhat of car collectors too. (See Attached Photos)
This guy even had 5 other specialty Jaguar motorcars too. Anyway if you are considering doing the Green Shower repair and need a good service you can trust, I'm sure Don and Julie would be happy to talk to you. I will surely be visiting the next time I head out west to do another repair.

Remind me to preview any "You Tube" video's from Ohio, prior to playing it in front of friends.
I'm old time when it come's to a female using language like this, publicly or privately, but this one took the cake.
I have (old) Navy buddies who use bad language, but this female topped any one of them. Is this the new language of the young? Lord help us if it is.
For her better half (Sorry about that pal) to allow such a video for all to see, with this kind of language, is just as shocking. I'm also concerned that the moderators for this forum allowed the video to air--shame.
