Default Changing SLM (Security Locking Modul)

As it seems I have a problem with my SLM I bought another one. It has the correct part number and also the correct VCAT.

Can I only change the modules or is any special procedure required?

Thanks - Daniel

Dan, my Jag specialist has told me I need a new SLM, part number LJE2600BD, for my 2005 XK8/R convertible in order to fix my problem of "Check rear lights" warning after a few prods of the brake pedal & if I get one they can fit it while I wait so I think it's a straight swap.

Why are you changing yours?

My Jaguar garage couldn't program a second key. He did not get into the program mode and did not get any respond-signal.
So he said it is probably the SLM that is faulty.

It took me about a year to find the correct SLM with the matching VCAT.

I've just been through this myself and had to get my mechanic to reprogram the SLM. I'm based in London, UK. I'd be happy to recommend him if you're UK based.

If the VCAT is (complete) matching, changing is plug and play.
Changing the SLM only helps if you have problems with programming the remote.
