PartsXJS HP Exhaust System

PartsXJS HP Exhaust System
The glasspacks I had installed near the exhaust tips resonate more now and have this rather forlorn moan when I add power around town, so I'm looking at making a change. I'd been told that just running straight pipes would resonate even more, but then I read some of you fellows are quite happy with your straight pipes on the rear, and then I saw 17-0359 - Exhaust Kit XK8; Replaces Rear Mufflers .
Look like a good set up? Any different from something a muffler shop could fabricate? I want to keep my quad tips anyway.

If you remove all four rears, you're going to be really loud I think.
I'd suggest removing the middle set in front of the rear wheels, first. Removing the center will give you more noise, but it will also add in considerable under cabin noise and the volume across the RPM range will be inconsistent.

Anyone know if the XKR rear box/piping assemblies are a compatable fit into the XK8?

All I removed were the rear most boxes, everything else is OEM, but I may have a line on some XKR rear boxes/piping. They can mate with the quad tip exhaust assemblies if there is a good fit in the car.

One of them is a coupe, 2005 though, and the others I'm not sure about yet. I think the first thing I'm going to do is have the glass packs removed and try just a straight pipe with the quad tips and see how that sounds. If the packs have gone bad they could be making more noise than a plain pipe would.
