Talking Exhaust tail pipes, have a look!

Morning everyone, I was looking for some double sided tape on ebay to stick my rear spoiler ( supplied by Paragon ) when I checked out a suppliers other items for sale and found this:

UNIVERSAL TWIN DOUBLE SPORT CHROME EXHAUST PIPE TRIM TIP TAIL MUFFLER 44-73MM | eBay

AND

SPORT DUAL TWIN EXHAUST MUFFLER PIPE TAIL TIP CHROME BMW E30 E32 E34 E36 E46 266 | eBay

There were others also but I liked the look of the above.
Has anyone any experience with this/these items or the seller.
Any idea what diameter the rear pipe is for the 8 as I may be tempted to try a pair.
If you check out the shop part there are other car related items which may be of interest.

My only concerns would be the type of steel they're made of, and the quality of the chrome plating. If they start rusting in a year, you're not going to be happy. Aside from that, it's a matter of taste.

Your pipes are 2" or 50.8mm. You don't have much length to work with on a 99 though with the dogleg off the rear muffler.

As stated, I've seen similar ones to these before at similar prices ( perhaps even a little more expensive ) and they can rust with a few months, not even a year.

Thats not to say these will, perhaps at that price it's worth a gamble?

As long as you go in with eyes wide open and low excpectations, you'll be all good if it works out A ok and not too disappointed if it doesn't

Good luck

Yes Jim, quite right, my only concern was the size of the original tail pipe and the new on and if it went T.U could I refit the old one's? Just thought some of the other members had seen the advert or had any dealings with the company. As Thunderbird one is in storage as we speak its going to be next year before any change may be made. Thanks for the interest and comments.

They look nice but whatever style you choose... make sure it's good stainless steel

If you planning on fitting these to a standard 8 box you will struggle, your old tip is welded so does not simply slide off unless you have the optional larger tip, you will also find using the original box with a straight forward Y configuration the tip will rub on your boot floor also because of the shape of your bumper the outer tip will protrude quite a bit....

This is why I made my tips like this

You could always fit OE twins but you would also have to change to bypass pipes or XKR rear boxes...... All of which I have

Many thanks for the info, saves everyone the trouble and wasted effort, just thought they looked good for the price.

Cheers,
