Default fuel pump replacement 01/XK8

Hello all, thanks for the recent help with "won't start" Thanks Gus for the electrical schematic, you were right pump blown,
My local mechanic who deals with a lot of high end cars and has already worked on this one , is going to pull the tank in the next couple of weeks.
My question is, the original part# was JLM20756, SNG Barratt replaces this with C2N3866* for $116 they also list C2N3866 (without *) for $258, don't see the difference, also should any other internal or external part be considered for replacement while tank is out? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Jeremy

The * indicates an after market part. The parts without the * are OEM Jaguar just like you would get at a dealer parts counter.

Rockauto has the Denso pump for under $100, but Barratt with the forum discount is competitive.

There is an approx. 1x1 inch square black box on the fuel pump leads in the tank. This is an electrical noise filter and should be checked for continuity while the pump is out. Sometimes they burn up internally when the pump fails.

Because of the labor involved in getting inside the tank, I would personally also replace the fuel level sender, but it is not necessary.

Thanks all for the info, looking at the exploded parts view on Barratt, might it not be a good idea to get the upper fuel pump seal and the lower fuel tank seal? In my experience working on equipment fittings with any kind of corrosive liquid that has not been removed for some time, the seals can be damaged or do not quite fit back as well after being installed for so long .I cannot find any reference to the small internal noise filter, anyone have a part #?

Thanks for that, managed to snag a new one on Ebay for a considerable discount.
