Default Litany of 'Minor' Codes

New to me 2005 XK8 convertible. Fellow who sold me the car said he'd get it 'detailed' before delivery. Don't know what all was entailed, but one thing was to squirt some kind of oily/silicone liquid over the engine to make it all shiny.

First step to remove the goop was to test spray on some degreasing soap (similar to Simple Green), and wipe with cloth. No joy. But, that action prompted a 'Restricted Performance' alert.

Hooked up the OBD2 reader and got P0171 and P1111 codes. The air intake tube - from air cleaner to throttle body - had several small but significant cracks in the corrugated section, so I replaced that and the 'Restricted Performance' alert disappeared.

But, the 'Check Engine' light became lit. I drove the car about 7 miles yesterday evening with the light lit, then hooked the OBD2 reader to the car this morning and got the same P0171 and P1111 codes.

The check engine alert was gone, though!

Anyone have suggestion what is going on?

Much obliged for help.

Don't worry about the P1111 code, that is the OBD test complete code.

If you have cleared the codes and they don't return, you should now be ok.
