Wehen I removed the oe under my XK8, it was raised so that full extended axle stnds were resting on a 4 inch thick block of wood. That gave enough room to roll the assembly out and access the rather difficult exhaust mounting bolts.
The assembly is HEAVY! and it can help removal and refitting if you can use3 jacks! one at the back and one on each mounting. Also helps if it can be lowered onto a trolley of some sort. If you only have the one jack, then try screwing some M12 all thread into the front mountings, fit nuts and washers to hold the subframe in place, so it can be gradually lowered with a jack at the back and unsrewing the nuts at the front. Slow but well controlled. The reverse procedure is very handy for locating everything during re-assembly.
