Default Moog Problem Solver End Links

WELL....In my quest to fix a few things on my 2001 XKR I saw the MOOG problem solver front end links. From the photos they looked like a great idea,,,,

That was until I went to install them. First the factory lower end link bolt was too short. SECONDLY it doesn't appear the bottom bushing will actually even fit if I get the proper side bolt.

Has anyone had experience with these?

Many thanks

Damon

Howdy Folks:
My experience with similar on my 06 Charger was that torque wrench readings were useless with the locknuts. I had to really tighten them down to eliminate noise. However, I always welcome the Zerk fittings .

Damon, I got their rear sway bar links and it was perfect. They just didn't tell you the bushing needed to be cut in half to go on each side and be clamped down by the bolt, just like the original.
If you have the wrong size bolt, I would think something is miscued.

I will take some photos tomorrow but these are them. The bushing portion is much thicker and wider making the factory bolt not fit as well as it just not fitting in the factory space period. They do not come with a longer bolt..anyone use these ever??

I had the same problem. I got the Moog link from Carquest. Had to order it. About a month after I got them, I did the job. Took the old link out, got the new one out of the box and sat them next to each other to make sure they were the same. They are not even close and will not fit. I ended up having to order the correct ones and waiting a few days to finish the job.

I have also purchased these. as I feel they will work well with my powerflex bushes, and I think I see a way to fit them. If you look at the photo Graham posted. the large end with the urethane bushing is the control arm end, why then would not a washer the thickness of the shock mount bracket (along with a longer bolt) give clearance needed and bolt right up? I am about to give this a try and will let you know in the next couple of days

I just found it weird they sel these without a longer bolt and that they just seem a bit to big to even fit properly. Ill go at it again next weekend. Let us know what happens

Also the link seems alot beefier than factory..One of the reasons it just doesnt fit but also teh reason I ordered it. And thanks for posting the photo!!!

The problem is not just the bolt length, it's that the body of the bushing is too big and will not fit. The bushing hits the aluminum frame and will not allow the bolt hole to line up.

I installed my front and rear end links today...Got rid of a few squeeks .

Anyway the moog front problem solvers fit. I needed a 100mm long bolt and I believe I used a Metric size 10 with a .5 thread pitch. First I installed bolt. Then two standard washers, then a fender washer, then the end link, then a fender washer then a tension locking nut.

The rears were starnge. It cam with one long bushinhg...I decieded that it was meant to be cut in half so I did so as to have two bushings. Went together effortlessly.

Well I got rid of some unwanted noises. One front end link was shot as were both rears. I do still have some unwanted noises. Ill make another post about that. I just put on about 20 miles and no strange noises that would be indicating the end links binding or rubbing. If anything negative occures with the hmoog links ill bring this post back to the top. For now seems aok
