OK, I heard back from American Racing concerning the VN801 Daytona wheels.

They have a 72.6 bore which equals 2.86" and our XK8 requires a 74.1 bore which equals 2.92". This is only 1.5mm or .06" off and I should be able to get the bore size increased on the wheels to fit. I sent them another email asking if they would provide the service and if the wheel could support the increase in bore size.

Can someone confirm that my 03 XK8 bore size is 74.1. Just want to be sure.

Thanks,

The Coventry wheels are 73.9. I assumed they were made to fit the jaguar so the bore spacing would be the same. At least that is what they are listed as

Well I've searched and searched and find conflicting info on the hub dia. It's either 73.9 or 74.1 but there are just as many posts with each listed. Not much difference but I want to get this right.

I did find in a post a link to an offset calculator which seems to indicate I would not need spacers for the VN801 Daytona rims. These are 18 X 9 with 24 offset.

According to the calculator at this link:
Wheel Offset Calculator

Stock front 8 with 33 offset vs new 9 with 24 offset=
4mm less inner clearance and 22mm outer edge extension

Stock rear 9 with 35 offset vs new 9 with 24 offset=
11 mm more inner clearance and 11mm outer edge extension

For those of us on this side of the pond:
22mm = about 55/64"
11mm = 7/16"
4mm = 5/32"

Wrap the fronts in 245/45/18's and the rear in 255/45/18's. The 255's are 9.9mm wider than the 245's so subtract half of the extra width 4.8 from the front extension 22 = 17.2mm or 43/64" front tire edge further out compared to the rear. I think they would fit and I can live with a little over 1/2 inch difference in the front to rear edge.

I think I'm over analyzing this, it's driving me nuts!

OK forget all the above, LOL

I guess what I really need to know is are the front vs rear setup different on a car with staggered rims or can I just put the same size rim and tire on both the front and rear and it will look correct and be good to go. In this case I would go with 245/45/18's front and rear on 9" rims with 24mm offset.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. I need all the advise I can get.
