New top hoses/ rebuilt rams RESOLVED
Hi gang, just installed my 3 rebuilt power top rams and all 6 hoses.
Started task Saturday eve after work till around 11pm., a little Sunday am before work and a bit Sunday eve after work. All installed. Next, install fluid, hit button. Almost afraid . Will check for leaks and then give you all the run down of the install. I found a mix of help from quite a few folks on this site. Areas less difficult and more than thought. Will keep ya posted. Rich
May not be this eve, work today.

Hey Wayne, thank you. Home from work last night, could not wait. Had a little time to install the fluid in the pump, bingo. top up top down, after refill. As the man said. The system does self bleed. This am before work I had to check one item that bothered me. Rear windows. I just had not held the op up switch long enough. They too work. I will chat you folks soon as to the procedures I found useful. Rich

You should not have a problem pulling the new hoses in just stagger the ends and if you haven’t already as you pull the old out attach a string or the new hoses and pull them in.

Hi Steve, sorry for the delay, away from my computer for a bit. Yes, this washer sits between the piston and the piston holder. Top of the piston has a brass cap with an indent hole on either side. the inside hole sits on a tab that sticks out from the top frame. Then you have a removable plate with tree screws which has a tab that fastens to the other side of the piston. Following order ; Start closest to inside of quarter panel ; Top Frame bracket- Wave washer- top piston- tab connected to 3 screw plate. Hopeful I made myself clear enough. Good luck. I guess this washer takes up any slack from the movement of the piston as well as a wear washer.

Hi Auto, As recommended by one of our pals on this site, I replaced the lines from inside the vehicle. Pull through from the windshield header, push through toward the truck Replaced the top hoses and rebuilt ram above winshield header, with the top down. ( manually, Insure you release the unnatural beyond center lock of the rear roof frame) Once I completed the windshield header, I then raised the top ( manually) to run my other hoses. I placed a drop light in the trunk near the area to spot the hole from inside the car. You do have a few plastic wire ties, I cut then replaced. I had no problem with this area doing hoses one by one as not to confuse location. I found it easier to replace ther rear two cylinder four hoses with the top up. Hope this was of some help. Rich
