Thumbs up Now available: XK8 / XKR Navigation to Triple Gauge Cluster Conversion Harness Kit

If you dislike your outdated, non-upgradeable navigation system, now you can replace it with the timeless design of the factory triple gauges.

I have designed a triple gauge cluster harness retrofit that is easy to install - no soldering or special skills needed.

You provide the gauge cluster (new or used) and the wood trim bezel. This kit provides the harness to allow you plug the gauge cluster in navigation equipped vehicles and have it function properly. This add-on harness is not available from Jaguar dealers.

The kit includes the harness, a solderless ground tap connector, tie wraps and a wire pulling tool. The terminals and connectors have been thoroughly researched and are the same parts used to fabricate the original Jaguar harnesses.

The conversion takes about an hour. It also allows you to return to navigation should you ever wish to.

Please PM me (or email: whitexkr@comcast.net) if you have questions or want to purchase one. The kits sell for $79.95 plus $10 shipping in the US (overseas shipping by quote). At this time I can only accept Paypal or check.

Here are the installation details (revised June 6, 2011):

I got your PM and will try to take a look at my RHD setup tomorrow. I can't really see why it would be different to LHD, but I guess Jaguar's motto is "why do it simple when you can make it complicated"

I am almost certain at least the wire lengths will be different, but if you can confirm the the connectors and openings are in the same relative position, I can figure out the length changes.

Thanks. It is going to look even nicer when I swap the 1950s TV set, sorry OE satnav, for those gorgeous - if useless - gauges

Job done! WhiteXKR's harness is very well put together and his instructions make for an easy, if slighty fiddly (reading glasses recommended!), install.

If anything, his harness is almost over-engineered, but this only makes the install simpler and obviously I would prefer too much quality to not enough. From start to finish, it took me just over 2 hours, but I was being REALLY methodical and deliberately slow, so as not to mess things up. Having done it once, I could do it all again in under 1 hour now.

Anyway, here's a quick picture of my fully working gauges. Many thanks to WhiteXKR for his hard work and perseverance with this mod

Now I just have to wait a couple more weeks to get the elm veneer panel back from the UK.
