options for speaker replacement on 2001 xkr coupe
Hi
I've read most of the threads re head unit replacement and speaker systems. I have a 2001 xkr coupe premium Alpine stereo. I have added the Parrot Bluetooth and now really only use the USB SSD for music. I dont want to replace the head unit but would like to improve the sound quality if possible and at a reasonable cost i.e. < $500.
Is this at all possible ? i.e by just replacing the speakers or is what I have just not worth the money to replace. I think this system has 2 sub woofers in the rear, big base on rear parcel shelf, subs in the front door panels, tweeters between door panel/glass and two speakers in the instrument panel under windscreen.
Thanks
Simon

I can tell you I upgraded my Alpine unit with speakers in the rear, instead of subwoofers and now that I changed my headunit. I am upgrading the speakers in the doors. Just make sure you get the correct OHM on the speakers. I am leaving my tweeters alone, well until they go out, as I do not want to mess with them.
Good Luck
