P0300 & P1316 - Restricted Performance - Clearing Codes
Last summer I would occasionally get a Restricted Performance to pop up. It was always on a warm day, and always after the car sat for about ½ hour and then was started and taken for a short trip. The Restricted Performance would clear itself in a minute or so, and it would clear whatever codes caused it before I could check them.
I thought the problem had corrected itself, but today it popped up today. I managed to pull into the driveway and run inside to grab my code scanner. The Restricted Performance had cleared before I could scan, but the codes hadn't cleared yet this time.
I got a P0300 along with a P1316. I checked the JTIS and this forum and came across this: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...misfire-49099/
The car only ran rough once last year, but the symptoms are similar.
The car is due for a fuel filter replacement, so I will do that, and probably run through some BG-44K for good measure. Any other initial steps I should look into, or just do those and see what happens from there?

Fuel vapour lock in the lines used to be a problem years ago on hot days which would result in loss of power and/or misfire. It would clear as cool fuel was drawn though from the tank.
Symptoms sound the same but it could just as easily be related to the 10% ethanol fuel you have in the US. We currently have 5% and there's far less reported instances of filter and pump problems.
