Power Seat Stopped Working!!!
#63
My seat bottom would not go up or down in the back. the front worked fine. I removed my power sear module and opened up the plastic case. One of the strips on the circuit board was fried and open. I got a pencil soldering iron and soldered it back together and added a jumper wire from post to post to be sure. it works great.

My drivers seat bottom would not go up or down in the back so I sat higher than I wanted. I pulled the power seat control module under the front part of the seat and removed the plastic cover. One of the circuit board strips was burned apart. I got a pencil soldering iron at Fryes and soldered the strip back together. I added the yellow jumper wire as insurance. It is a solid core copper wire, not stranded. The seat now works!

I had the same problem with my passenger seat. forward/back was ok, but the seat back would not recline. The module was easy enough to remove, the nuts do not need fully removed... only released. The module then moves side-ways and forward through slot.
The outer edge of the circuit board had a definite break in the filament. A little light handed soldering and popped it back in.
Thanks for the info!

Now my trunk button doesn't work. I got a new one at the Jag dealership and installed it because they told me this happens sometimes. The new one doesn't work either. the dash remote and fob both release the solenoid but not the push button on the trunk lid. I need to find the fuses to see if that is the problem. Has anyone had this problem?
